During the ’60’s Ralph Lauren started making a name for him self. I mean, everybody knows the typical American Polo’s! But the label also had a more luxury line with high-end dresses, robes and other goods. The exclusive ‘members-only‘ club in Milaan is just prove of the mega influence the designer has.
But breaking news; Ralph Lauren announced that he is no longer the chief executive at his own fashion label. The Swedish Stefan Larsson is taking his place. Larsson worked for H&M and was the director of Old Navy (the budget line of GAP), so he brings a lot of experience.
Mister Lauren (who is 75 years of age) will still be involved in the company, creative director and chairman are going to be his official titles. Larsson comes from the world of confection and attracting a wide audience, so the appointment of Larsson could indicate a change of direction for the company.
